The Making Space
The Making Space is a hands-on creation studio located on the gallery level. Deepen your appreciation of the art on view through directed activities, or simply experiment with a variety of art materials to try something new.
During the Tell Clyfford exhibition, enjoy the interactive Weaving Wall experience in The Making Space. Developed in conjunction with Colville students and artist Carly Feddersen, the community weaving experience is inspired by the weaving techniques used by Feddersen and the colors Clyfford Still used to paint PH-796, which our co-curator, Kloey, likened to a woven blanket. Start by choosing materials from the hooks in this gallery, and then find a spot to weave on the interactive wall. Try different ways to weave the material through the rope. You can add to someone else’s weaving or undo a weaving to make space for your design!
